LAGRANGE -- Retired Master Sergeant (U.S. Air Force) James "Jim" Monroe Harris Jr., 80, of Fire Tower Road passed away Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Mr. Harris was born in Franklin County on Nov. 22, 1933 to the late James and Sallie Lamm Harris. He was a member of Coats Primitive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Fay Harris; one son, Richard Allen Harris and wife, Lisa of Kenly; two brothers, Wilbur C. Harris of Trenton, Ohio and Robert L. Harris of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Dorothy Jean Lockwood of Byron, Georgia; and one grandson, Stuart Allen Harris.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Keith Harris; two daughters, Rhonda Harris and Brenda Harris; two brothers, Clayton Harris and Joseph Harris and a sister, Eleanor Mullen.
The family will receive Wednesday from 6 until 7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro with funeral services to immediately follow in the chapel. A graveside will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Spring Hope Cemetery with military honors.
