WILLIAM HARDING LANCASTER

GREENSBORO -- William HardingLancaster, 91, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at Greensboro Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at New Garden Friends Meeting, 801 New Garden Road, Greensboro, N.C.
Mr. Lancaster was born to Nathan and Glenn Lancaster March 3, 1922, in Grantham, N.C.
He served his country in World War II in the United States Army Air Force.
Upon returning home, he married AldaV Limbaugh April 29, 1945, in St. Louis, Mo.
He then returned to Goldsboro, N.C., where he owned and operated Farmers Freezer Locker until his retirement in 2002.
Mr. Lancaster was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Brenda Lancaster Armstrong.
Mr. Lancaster is survived by his wife of 68 years, AldaV L. Lancaster of the home; son, Webb Lancaster (Sandy) of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughters, Jean Lancaster of Greensboro and Sheri Bridges (Donnie) of Zebulon; son-in-law, Jeff Armstrong; and grandchildren, Will Armstrong, Shannon Vanderburg, Matthew Sugg, Jonathan Sugg and Daniel Bridges.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, N.C., 27405.
