MOUNT OLIVE -- Stephanie Hardy Alphin, 45, Rones Chapel community near Mount Olive, lost her life early Tuesday morning, Feb. 4, 2014, in a single-vehicle accident occurring one mile from her residence.

Services to celebrate her life will be Thursday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, andwill be officiated by the Rev. Frank Turner, immediately followed by visitation.

She will be laid to rest at Wayne Memorial Park Friday, Feb. 7, following a 1 p.m. committal service.

Friends and relatives are being received at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, appreciated would be contributions to the Kayla Paige Alphin Educational Fund, c/o Southern Bank and Trust Co., P.O. Box 729, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365.

Stephanie, a 1986 graduate of Southern Wayne High School, had enjoyed a long tenure of employment with Burlington Industries in Mount Olive until its closure, after which she completed computer studies at Wayne Community College.

She then gained employment at North Duplin High School as computer lab coordinator and Internet facilitator.

She was a member of Garner's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Stephanie is survived by her husband, Kevin W. Alphin; a daughter, Kayla Paige Alphin of the home; her mother, Barbara Patterson Hardy Marquez and special friend, Frank Epley, of Faison; a brother, Josh Marquez and special friend, Samantha Sawvel, of Cary; a stepdaughter, Victoria Alphin of Pink Hill; her parents-in-law, Cheryl and C.J. Foss of Mount Olive; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Her father, James Burke "Jimmy" Hardy, preceded her in death.
