Harvey Ayers, 91, Rosewood Road, Goldsboro, N.C., embarked on his journey of eternal life Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, in the comfort of his home.
His life and service to God and mankind will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Rocky Branch United Church of Christ, N.C. 581, Kenly, N.C.
A wake is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive.
He leaves behind his wife, Minnie R. Ayers of the home; two sons, James Harvey (Lavolia) of Wilson, N.C., and Thomas (Martrena) of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Callie Ayers; grandson, Vernon Turner of the home; sister, Vivian Braswell of Syracuse, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Donations may be sent to Southeastern Medical Oncology Center in Goldsboro, N.C.
