KATHERINE S. ALLEN

GRANTHAM -- Katherine Sutton Allen passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at her home.
Katherine was born in Wayne County March 29, 1941, to the late Rufus and Idell Sutton. She was married to the late Ricky Lee Allen, who preceded her in death Jan. 22, 2005.
Early in life, Katherine worked with Kemp Furniture, and later worked with the Wayne County Livestock Association at the Wayne County Fairgrounds.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by her funeral service in the chapel at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, in Wayne Memorial Park.
She is survived by her sons, Anthony Dail and wife, Stephanie, Tracey Dail and David Lee Allen and wife, Ashley, all of Goldsboro, and five grandchildren, Kasey, Wesley, Kelly, Joseph and Mallory.
Katherine is also survived by sisters, Rhonda Parker of Benson and Ernestine Dudley of Charlotte, and a brother, Wayne Sutton of Rosewood.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Terry Lee Porter.
With loving gratitude, we would like to thank her caregiver, Edna Denning, for her incredible guidance, wisdom and support during Katherine's decline in health.
