HELEN SAULS STROBEL

Helen Sauls Strobel, 87, passed away Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Helen was born in Greene County Jan. 7, 1926, to the late Rudie and Flossie Taylor Sauls.

For 25 years, she had worked with C&P Telephone Co. in Washington, D.C., and for 28 years, had worked with Ralph G. Smith Inc. in West Chester, Pa.

Helen was a member of Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a service to celebrate her life at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Lewis Forsythe officiating. Burial will follow at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Louann Clompus of Gap, Pa.; her sisters, Alma Dale Cox of Goldsboro and Lillian Wade of LaGrange; and her brother, Robert M. Sauls of Winston-Salem.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, 13 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her sisters, Sally White, Marie Davis and Dorothy Shalloup, and brothers, Johnny Sauls and Jesse Sauls.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 2127 U.S. 70 West, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
