NEWTON GROVE -- Edna Giddens Thornton, 81, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013.
Funeral service will be Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Union Christian Church, with the Rev. Richard Weikel officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
She is survived by daughters, Dorothy T. Lee and husband,Waiston, and Sherry T. Starling and husband, Tommy, both of Newton Grove and Kim T. Sullivan and husband,Jay, of Faison; son, Ellis Thornton and wife, Pat, of Newton Grove;sisters, Vivian Rose of Newton Grove andEvangeline Bradshawof Clinton; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bedford "Short" Thornton.
The family willreceive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
