Margie Turner Bass, 71, 882 Old 111 Highway, died Sunday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Margie was born Dec. 10, 1941, in Johnston County to the late Jessie James and Christine Ellis Turner. She was married to the late James Phillip Bass Sr.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery.

Margie is survived by her children, Teresa Williamson of Goldsboro, Linda McCarty and husband, Tim, of Goldsboro, Connie Hough and husband, Larry, of Goldsboro, James Phillip Bass Jr. and wife, Dawn, of Pikeville, ChristieParrish of Goldsboro and Steve Bass and wife, Machelle, of Goldsboro; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Turner of Rosewood; and sisters, Jesse Honeycutt of Goldsboro and Doris Tillman of Pikeville.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Rachel Bridgers, Joyce Ann Honeycutt, Hilda Westbrook and Esther Branch.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at her home.
