Delmar Ray Howell, 58, died Saturday at Hospice of Wake County.
He was born in Newport News, Va., to the late Ralph and Rannette Warrick Howell, and worked as a hairdresser.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with Mrs. Pat Batten presiding.
Mr. Howell is survived by his life partner of 26 years, Bill Garrett; two aunts, Edna Breshears and Christine Smith; and one uncle, Haywood Smith.
