EUNICE J. RAINS

Eunice Jernigan Rains, 82, passed away peacefully Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family and friends.
Eunice was born in Wayne County March 5, 1931, to the late Harvey Jernigan and Margaret Lane Jerningan. She was married to the late John Tommy Rains.
Eunice was a member of Antioch Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, from 11 a.m. to noon at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by her funeral service at noon in the chapel, with the Rev. Kelly Buffaloe officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
At other times, the family will be at the home of Vickie and Jerry Howell, 434 Friendly Drive, Goldsboro.
Eunice is survived by her daughters, Beverly Rains, Vickie R. Howell and husband, Jerry, and Jill R. Davis; son, Timothy Rains; granddaughter, Haley Howell; sisters, Hilda J. Kelly, Maggie J. Barwick and Margaret J. Reaves and husband, Bennie; sisters-in-law, Peggy Jernigan and Jeannette S. Rains; and special friend and caregiver, Polly Artis.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harvey Jernigan.
