Cecil Lawrence Kornegay, 78, Old Smithfield Road, Goldsboro, died Friday morning at his home.
He was born Sept. 8, 1934, and was the son of the late David Young and Onie Elizabeth Worley Kornegay.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at Casey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold Anderson and the Rev. Thomas McLendon officiating. The committal service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Princeton Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Marie Mitchell Kornegay; sons, Lawrence Kornegay and (Sherrie) of Goldsboro and Dickie Kornegay and (Mary Edwards) of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Tommy Kornegay, Travis Kornegay, David Kornegay, Lindsay Kornegay, Tara Fones and Jamie Watson; great-grandchildren, Kristen Uzzell, Gauge Norris Kornegay, Thomas "Tank" Kornegay, Jessie Fones and Kaitlyn Watson.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home.
