HUEY L. GINN

FREMONT -- Huey Long Ginn, 77, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Duke Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Huey was born in Wayne County Sept. 30, 1935, to the late Lonnie and Neta Pike Ginn.

He was a longtime resident of Kinston, where he managed the Barbecue Lodge for more than 40 years. After the Barbecue Lodge closed, Huey began working with Waste Industries, and continued working with it until his health declined.

He was a member of Kinston Rotary Club.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 31, 2013, from noon to 1 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Jimmy Forehand officiating. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston.

Huey is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie Wilkins Hardy Ginn; his children, Huey Michael Ginn and Beverly Ginn both of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Sonya Tien and husband, Jack, Brittany Denton and husband, Lee, Ashley Vernatt and husband, Robert, Christopher Ginn and Hannah and Michael Martini; and his great-grandchildren, Kaylee Denton, Taylor Denton and Bethany Denton.

He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Tillman, Lou Ella Blalock, Alice Banks and Dolly Davis Bryant, and his brothers, O'Neal Ginn and Aaron Ginn.

In addition to his parents, Huey was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Scott Ginn, a sister, and three brothers.
