LOUISE B. UZZELL

Louise Bailey Uzzell, 97, Goldsboro, passed away early Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at her home.

Miss Louise was born Dec. 24, 1915, in Duplin County to the late William B. Bailey and Nancy Hines Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Uzzell; brother, Lippman Bailey; and four sisters, Lucy B. Forsythe, Sarah B. Dawson, Mankie Abbott Bell and Annie Marie Hamlet.

A lifelong homemaker and farmer's wife, Louise enjoyed working in her yard, cooking, fishing, bingo and trips to Las Vegas.

Mrs. Uzzell was a longtime member of Casey's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, and loved helping others.

A service of remembrance will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013, at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alan Lamm officiating. Interment will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.

Louise is survived by eight nieces and nephews, Harriet Andrews, John Forsythe, Kathryn Rouse, Wayne Dawson, James Dawson, Kathy Bailey Green, John Hamlet and Rick Hamlet.

Louise was also preceded in death by three nieces and a nephew, Delphry Rouse, Betty Jane Williams, Nancy Lou Best and Verner A. Abbott III.

The family will receive friends Thursday following the service.
