MARY WOODARD HARTLEY BEARD

Mary Woodard Hartley Beard, 89, Goldsboro, died Saturday, April 6, 2013.
Born in Johnston County June 1, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Ava Woodard.
Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur Hartley and Johnny Beard; a son, W.G. Hartley; and a daughter, Barbara.
She was a member of Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church, with burial following in Wayne Memorial Park in Goldsboro. The Rev. Dennis Pollock will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m.
Surviving are her sons, Stanley Hartley and wife, Lynn, of Mount Olive and Dennis Hartley and wife, Elaine, of Raleigh; daughters, Sandra Wilson and husband, Wiley, of Goldsboro and Geraldine Parrish and husband, Elton, of Selma; her sister, Cassie Hinson of Goldsboro; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
