John Craven Powell, 74, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013, at home.
A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends afterward.
Mr. Powell was born in Duplin County Sept. 10, 1938, to the late Luby and Anaria Foss Powell.
He served in the National Guard.
He is survived by a brother, Doug Powell and wife, Nancy, of Clayton; a sister, Louise Foss and husband, Odell, of Mount Olive; a special friend, Herman Radford Jr. and family of Goldsboro; Sharon Radford, whom he thought of as a daughter; and several nieces and nephews.
