FAISON -- Betty Gardner Wilson Pate, 88, known to all as "Bill," of Friendship Church Road, passed on Sunday, March 3, from this life into the next, while a patient at Duplin General Hospital.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, and will be officiated by the Rev. Ashley Summerlin, with visitation immediately afterward. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wilson Cemetery near Calypso.
She is survived by four grandsons, Junior Coats and wife, Sheila, and Jeff Coats and wife, Rose, all of Faison, and Craig Patterson and Tony Patterson, both of Broadway; four great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Coats, Rebecca Coats, Lexi Patterson, and Kaitlyn Patterson; two great-great-grandchildren, Eric and Faith; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Sam Wilson and Roba S. Pate; her daughter, Catherine W. Patterson; a grandson, Douglas Coats; parents, Joe and Annie Joyner Gardner; and her siblings.
Arrangements are being handled by Tyndall Funeral Home.
