PIKEVILLE -- Helen Jean Holland Lancaster, 72, went on to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

Jean was born in Wayne County on Sept. 5, 1940, to the late Joseph and Sally Jones Holland. She had a great love for her children and grandchildren. Jean was a member of Free Chapel PFWB church for 45 years, where she served on the Ladies Auxiliary, was a choir member and taught Sunday school.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 4, 2013, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Stallings officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Vickie, 200 Barnes St., Fremont. Interment will be on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Jean is survived by her husband, Gerald Lancaster, who she was happily married to for 24 years; daughters, Vickie Hyatt Howell and husband, Gene of Fremont, and Belinda Michelle Slye of Pikeville; son, Timmy Gerald Lancaster of Pikeville; grandchildren, Scott Bizzell, April Bizzell, Krystle Howell, Danyelle Sauls, Dustin Lancaster, Joey Lancaster and Liane Lancaster; great-grandchildren, Zoe Bizzell, Matthew Foulk, Alex Foulk, Starling Worrell, Kaidyn Milligan, Bryndle Holloman, Lexis Lancaster and Presley Lancaster; brother, J.R. Holland of S.C.; and sisters, Christine Pittman of Fremont and Glenda Davis of Goldsboro.
