John Lawrence Sullivan Sr., 88, passed away Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
John was born in Santa Rosa County, Fla. on Nov. 13, 1924, to the late Charles Jones Sullivan and Ella Mae Wiggins Sullivan. He was a retired draftsman. John was a member of First Baptist Church.
John is survived by his wife, Dorothy Marie Stallings Sullivan; his son, John L. Sullivan Jr. and wife, Sara, of LaGrange; his daughters, Linda Love and husband, Chuck, of Charlotte and Carolyn Sullivan of Goldsboro and his brother, Lee D. Sullivan of Andalusia, Ala. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Eva Almeida and husband, Alejandro, of Charlotte, Lee Love and wife, Jennifer, of Charlotte, Stacey Casey and husband, William, of Seven Springs and Ashley Sullivan of LaGrange and his great-grandson, Cameron Casey.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Wayne County Services on Aging, 2001 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, NC 27530, or Cures for the Colors, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, NC 27534.
The family will receive friends today from 1 until 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
