MOUNT OLIVE -- Juan Carlos Ramos, 17, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Vidant Pitt Hospital in Greenville.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m. at Maria Reina DeLas Americas Catholic Church, Whitfield Road, Mount Olive, with Father Jaime A. Perez presiding. Burial will follow in Faison Cemetery in Faison.
The family will have visitation at Tyndall Funeral Home Thursday, Feb. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m., and at other times, family and friends are being received at 2004 Summerlin's Crossroads Road, Mount Olive.
Juan was a sophomore at North Duplin High School.
He enjoyed fishing, cross country riding and playing the base guitar.
He is survived by his parents, Alfredo Ramos and Claudia Rios Ramos of the home; sisters, Jennifer Ramos and Jezmin Ramos both of Mount Olive; his grandmothers, Esperanza Rios and Hilda Garcia; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
His grandfather, Antonio Rios, preceded him in death.
