FARMVILLE -- Mother Betty McNair, 68, 4241-A Anderson Ave., Farmville, peacefully passed away Monday morning at her residence.
She was born June 22, 1944, to Willie Sanders McNair and Marie Artis McNair Parker in Wayne County.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Doris Ellis.
Homegoing services will be held Saturday at noon at New Mount Moriah United Holy Church, 4329 Anderson Ave., Farmville. The Rev. Michael Artis will officiate, with the eulogy by her son, apostle Aaron McNair Sr.
Mother McNair's custom gold cross full-couch casket will be placed in an ornate white drawn hearse for her journey to Willowdale Cemetery.
She leaves a wealth of precious memories to her children, Sharion Council, Claudia Oliver, apostle A. B. McNair, Chanquia Faison and Bessie Ellis; mother, Marie Artis McNair Parker; siblings, Dr. Howard McNair Sr. and Wilma McNair; 19 grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Haskins Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends during an inspirational wake at the church Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
The family assemble at residence in preparation for the funeral procession.
