MATTIE MAE BYRD SMITH

WARSAW -- Mattie Mae Byrd Smith, 93, Warsaw, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville.
Mrs. Smith was born in Sampson County to the late Edward Byrd and Arbella Pope Byrd.
Mrs. Smith is survived by son, Floyd E. Smith and wife, Nancy, of Turkey; daughter, Mattie S. Tucker of Warsaw; three grandchildren, Billy Tucker and wife, Phyllis, Vickie Hatfield and husband, Danny, and Eileen Simpson; three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Smith, and brother, John Ed Byrd.
A funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, in Community Funeral Home chapel in Warsaw.
Visitation will follow the service.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, in Pinecrest Cemetery, Warsaw.
