MARGARET LONG LAWRENCE MATHERLY

Aug. 15, 1947-Nov. 2, 2012

Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, a band of angels took our sweet Margaret to receive her crowns of glory in paradise.

She loved people, and her sweet nature enabled her to excel as a sales person, which talent she used to sell everything from cars to life insurance to yellow page advertising.

But most recently Margaret spent her days working side by side with her daughter, Hope, at Anthony Web Design as a website composer, and she helped her husband, Johnny, with his business, Triangle East Supply.

Those who knew Margaret knew she was a follower of Christ. She had a giving and gentle spirit, and was apt to pray with most anyone at anytime if she felt their need. She truly sacrificed for others, and put their needs ahead of her own.

The apples of Margaret's eyes were her three grandchildren, Joseph Anthony and Jack and Eva Claire Lawrence. She spent every opportunity she had enjoying her time with them.

In addition to her grandchildren, Margaret is survived by her husband, Johnny Matherly Sr. of Bailey; her daughter, Hope Lawrence Anthony and husband, Joe, of Wilson; her son, Ronald T. "Ron" Lawrence II of Goldsboro; her sister, Audrey Tyndall of Wilson; and her brother, Lee Long and wife, Donna, of Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Lee and Jonna Faye Hawkins Long; her stepson, Johnny Matherly Jr.; and her first husband, Ronald T. Lawrence Sr.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway in Wilson.

The family will receive immediately following the service. Additionally, the family will receive friends and family at 3005 Eliza Place in Wilson.

Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net.
