GREENSBORO -- Anstin Cierra Alston was born July 11, 1987, in Wayne County to Sandra Alston and Connie Thigpen. She departed this life Oct. 11, 2012, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

She attended Charles B. Aycock High School, and later enrolled in Liberty University, studying for a career in psychology.

She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Unique Toomer of the home; her mother, Sandra "Muffin" Alston of Goldsboro; her father, Connie Thigpen of Fremont; a sister, Candace Alston of Goldsboro; a brother, Ratise Alston of Hampton, Va.; two godbrothers, Anthony Armstrong of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Wilton Armstrong of Greenville; two grandmothers, Margilene Alston of Fayetteville and Evelyn Alston of Goldsboro; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Goldsboro.

Immediately following the services, Miss Alston's delicate temple, along with her adored family, will be escorted by E.M. Matthews' angelic white fleet to Old Mill Cemetery for interment rites.

Miss Alston and the Alston/Thigpen family are in the hallmark of care at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home.
