SEVEN SPRINGS -- Grady Barwick, 84, 227 Adams Road, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 17, 2012.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, at 3 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Mickey Whitfield, and followed by burial in Smith Family Cemetery near the residence.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home, and at other times at the home.
The last survivor among his siblings, he was the ninth of 10 children born to their late parents, Julius Caesar Barwick and Carrie Grady Barwick.
He had been married to the late Norma Grey Ezzell Barwick, and was retired from Seven Springs Supply Co., where he was a service technician.
Mr. Barwick is survived by his children, Layton Glen Barwick of Seven Springs, Grady Cheryl B. Newcomb of Haslet, Texas, David Barwick and his wife, Mary Jo, of Rocky Mount and Barbara Carol B. Morris and her husband, Edward T., of Toano, Va.; seven grandchildren, Jimmy Haley, Johnny Haley, Cristel McKinney, Allen Barwick, Keesha Kast, Amy Degano, and Tammy Malinowski; 13 great-grandchildren; his sweetheart, Haddie H. Brock of Mount Olive; and a special friend, Renee Davis of Mount Olive.
