LOLA P. BYRD

MOUNT OLIVE -- Lola Potts Byrd, 91, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7.
Mrs. Byrd was a retired insurance agent with Charlotte Liberty Mutual Insurance Co.
She was a longtime member of Emmaus Baptist Church, and had been its treasurer for many years.
Services to celebrate Mrs. Byrd's life will be held at Emmaus Church Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Johnny Sasser and Dr. J. William Byrd, and followed by interment in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.
From 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, the family will receive friends at the church, and at other times at the Leona Brock residence at 113 Ramblewood, Mount Olive.
Mrs. Byrd is survived by a son, David Byrd of Surf City; two daughters and a son-in-law, Ann B. and Ralph Williamson of Grantham and Leona B. Brock of Mount Olive; a daughter-in-law, Janet R. Byrd of Andrews, S.C.; a sister, Lillian P. Strickland of Seven Springs; a brother and sister-in-law, George and Inez Potts of Mount Olive; nine grandchildren, Cheryl Kornegay, Bryan Williamson, Leslie Paszck, Brandon Brock, Gloria Cannon, Lindsey Byrd McLamb, Donnie Dail, Bobby Dail and Kim Cooper; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Alton Byrd; a daughter, Gloria Byrd; a son, Jimmy Byrd; a grandson, Gary Dail; a great-grandchild, Bailey Eaddy; her parents, David and Nespie Roberts Potts; a brother, David Russell Potts; and a sister, Margaret P. Culbreth.
Memorial gifts may be directed to Emmaus Baptist Church, 714 Emmaus Church Road, Dudley, N.C., 28333, and they welcome flowers as well.
