Warren Douglas Johnson went home to be with his Lord on Aug. 23, 2012.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church on Thursday Aug. 30, 2012. Visitation will be in the Fellowship Hall at 3 p.m. with the service in the sanctuary at 4 p.m.
As his birth was rejoiced and celebrated by family and friends 69 years ago, so was his final rebirth in Heaven. He was born Oct. 29, 1942, in Wayne County to Cleo Best Johnson and Charles Walter Johnson. He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Gordon Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Campbell Johnson; daughters, Meredith J. Christenson, Jennifer Johnson Ames and husband, Chris; granddaughters Madison Bass, Ariel Ames and Kylie Ames; a brother, Charles W. Johnson; special friends and relatives, Judy and Charles Taylor, Bill and Connie McCullen, Buddy and Joyce Riley, Emily and Bill Powell, the Wheeler family, all his loving First Baptist Church family and his friends at Arendell Parrott Academy.
Warren fought a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's and so, in his memory donation can be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org, or First Baptist Church, 125 S. John St. Goldsboro, NC 27534.
