CHARLES ROBERT CASSIN

March 10, 1945-June 22, 2012

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Charles Robert Cassin, 67, passed away peacefully at his home Friday, June 22, 2012.

He was born March 10, 1945, in Johnson City, N.Y.

He retired after 22 years from the United Sates Air Force, and fought in Vietnam and Desert Storm.

He most recently retired from Kalitta Air, where he served as a flight engineer.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Sherry Cassin; stepfather, Bill Miranowski; and brother, Bobby Cassin.

He is survived by his children, Tracey Grant (Steve), Scott Cassin (Diane) and Ramie Tilley (Jeff); his loving mother, Dorothy Miranowski; brother, John Miranowski; and eight grandchildren, Laura, Abbey, Andrew, Zachery, Riley, Nicholas, Michael and Stephen.

He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend. We will forever love him and cherish every memory we have with him. He has taught us to love others, to be giving, work hard, never give up, never settle for less and always have pride in what we do, expect the best from ourselves and no less.

His smile was like no other, the laughter and love he brought into our lives will forever be missed. We will never forget how hard he worked to give us a good life here on earth.

A private family ceremony will be held at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens in Jacksonville, Fla.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Charles Cassin to Haven Hospice, Jacksonville, Fla.
