Harvey Glenn Edge Jr., 58, went to be with his heavenly father Friday surrounded by his family.
A service to honor the life of Glenn will be today at 6 p.m. at Free Chapel PFWB Church with the Rev. Mike Williams and the Rev. Dock Hobbs officiating.
Glenn was the son of the late Harvey Glenn Edge Sr. and Margaret Wheeler Walton. Glenn was employed with Goldsboro Milling Company as a serviceman and was a member of Free Chapel PFWB Church. He will be remembered as a gentle person who had a deep love and devotion to his family, church, and was an avid outdoorsman.
Surviving are his wife, Theda Lancaster Edge; his daughter, Stacie Moore and husband, Rickie, of Raleigh; his grandson, who was the apple of his eye, Connor Moore; brothers, Ave Edge of Athens, Ga., Randy Edge and wife, Renee, of Goldsboro, and Wayne Edge of Maury; stepbrother, Jay Hasbrook and wife, Marge, of Ohio; stepsister, Kay Winkler of Tenn.; special aunt, Mary Frances Edge of Snow Hill; father and mother-in-law, J.R. and Esther Lancaster of Patetown; brother-in-law, Steve Lancaster and wife, Gail, of Patetown; sister-in-law, Pam Lancaster of Middlesex; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Glenn was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his step-mother, Grace Odom Edge and brother-in-law, Mike Lancaster.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Free Chapel PFWB Church c/o Gerald Brown, 187 Vance Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
