LaGRANGE -- Evelyn Bartlett Hines, 85, of LaGrange, entered into heaven on Friday, June 22, 2012.

A service of remembrance will be held Monday, June 25, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Hobgood and Josh Hobgood officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Fairview Cemetery, LaGrange.

Evelyn, daughter of the late Milton and Mamie Tillman Bartlett was born July 26, 1926, in Wayne County. She was wife of the late William Guy Hines Sr. Evelyn retired from Caswell Center following 26 years of service. She was a long time member of LaGrange First Free Will Baptist Church, where she enjoyed keeping the nursery and attending circle meetings. She enjoyed reading, writing poetry, animals, gardening and tending to her flowers.

Mrs. Hines is survived by five children, Linda Spivey and husband, Ernest, of Newport, Susan Quesenberry and husband, Jeff, of Stone Mountain, Ga., Teresa Britt and husband, Marlon, of Newton Grove, William Guy Hines, Jr. and wife, Janet, of LaGrange, Hugh Hines of LaGrange; three grandsons, Neal Britt and wife, Jenny, Lee Spivey, Nicholas Britt and fiancee, Rachel Booker; five granddaughters, Donna Braswell and husband, Gene, Catherine and Raleigh Quesenberry, Madison and Ashlyn Hines; great-grandchildren, Elise Braswell, Kate Braswell, Will Braswell, Emily Spivey, Mason Britt, Ashton Britt and Bryson Britt; two sisters, Shirley Bedford and husband, J.A., of Belfast and Esther Gardner of Goldsboro; brother, Milton Paul Bartlett and wife, Joyce, of Pikeville; sister-in-law, Pat Bartlett of Milwaukee, Wis.; two brothers-in-law, Archie Rose of Wilson and Robert Fleming of Goldsboro; and three special cousins, Selma Griffin, Lucille White and Helene Burchick. In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by a brother, James William Bartlett; two sisters, Grace Rose and Audrey Fleming; and a brother-in-law, J.C. Gardner.

The family will receive friends Monday following the service of remembrance and at other times they will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Guy Hines Jr., 410 Lake Pines Drive, LaGrange.
