CECILE M. BLANTON
March 27, 1925-April 2, 2012
Cecile Menard Blanton, 87, died Monday at Harmony Hall Nursing and Rehab Center in Kinston.
She was born in Holyoke, Mass., to the late Armand and Rose Couture Menard, and was married to the late William C. Blanton.
A member of Love Memorial Baptist Church, she had previously worked as an LPN at Howell's Child Care Center and Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with pastor George Futrelle officiating. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
Mrs. Blanton is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William A. and Gloria Blanton of Raleigh; a daughter, Sandy Rutledge of Seven Springs; grandchildren, Elizabeth Blanton, April and Andy Grady and David and Jennifer Rutledge; and great-grandchildren, Laura Ray, Ashley Blanton and Dawson Grady.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, MaLinda Blanton.
