Oscar Newton Lovelace Jr., 85, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Oscar was born in Wayne County July 6, 1926, to the late Oscar Newton Lovelace Sr. and Sally Powell Lovelace.
He was a public relations officer at Southern Bell until he retired.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 22, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Willow Dale Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Harry officiating.
Oscar is survived by his son, Tim Lovelace of Goldsboro, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Peggy Hurley Lovelace; and his sister, Lee Warren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church at 204 E. Chestnut St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
