PIKEVILLE -- Mildred Strickland Sasser, 88, died Monday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with the Rev. Rose Hicks officiating. Entombment was in Scott Family Cemetery near Kenly.
She was born Dec. 19, 1922, in Johnston County to the late Robert Henry and Nora Nina Scott Strickland. She was married to the late Hubert Eldridge Sasser.
She is survived by a son and a daughter.
