Marion "Junior" Barnes of Pikeville died Saturday.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday in Evergreen Memorial Park. Pastor Danny Johnson will officiate at both services.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Barnes; two sons, David Michael Barnes and wife, Michelle, of Pikeville, and Robert Earl Barnes and friend, Melinda of Pikeville; a sister, Jean Tomlinson of Wilson; a brother, Johnny Barnes of Wilson; two special brothers-in-law, Wayne Gardner and Julian Langley; a special companion, Bootsie; and five grandchildren, Samantha, Justin, Brooke, Austin, and Daniel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Jones Barnes and Dorothy Pearce Barnes; a sister, Linda Faye Gardner; and a brother, Charles Ray Barnes.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Brian Center in Goldsboro and the Davita Dialysis Center in Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service and at other times the family will be at the home of Mike and Michelle Barnes, 115 Joy Ave., Blueberry Hill Subdivision, Pikeville.
