James Charles "J.C." Herring, 62, passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
James was born in Lenoir County July 11, 1949, to the late James Henry Herring and Ellen Udell Harper Herring.
He was the owner and operator of Mid Atlantic Mobile Home Setup, and also had driven for Fed Ex as a team with his wife.
James attended Rosewood Church of God.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with brother Von Vernon, the Rev. Tim Johnson and the Rev. Thomas McLendon officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
James is survived by his wife, Sherri Herring; his sons, James "J.B." Herring and wife, Pamela, of Goldsboro and Mallory "Bit" Herring of Goldsboro; his daughter, Vivian "Missy" Vernon and husband, Von; his brothers, Jimmy Carol Herring of Melbourne, Fla., and Kenneth Herring of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Jessica Carol Malcolm, James Henry Stuart Herring, Jennifer Lynn Malcolm, Miranda Lynn Herring, Juston David Johnson, Katlyn Michelle Herring and Emma Jai Herring; great-grandchildren, Zachery Michael Patterson and Tatiana Jayden Malcolm; and his best friend, Ray Ray.
