Philip Paul "Chuck" Benny, 84, passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.

Chuck served his country in the United States Air Force with 22 years of distinguished service. While serving his country, Chuck and his family were stationed at West Point Academy, the Air Force headquarters in Washington, D.C., the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and overseas tours in Greenland and Turkey.

Following his military service, Chuck continued working as a civilian for 20 years, as well as a volunteer for 14 years at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Hospital.

He was a member of Adamsville Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Todd Wiggins officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Wayne Memorial Park with full military honors.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frances Hollada Benny; his daughter, Bonita Kay Hollada Davis and her husband, Quinton Dale Davis, of San Antonio, Texas; his grandchildren, Leland Dale Davis and wife, Pam, and Camala Dalene Collier and husband, Robert; and five great-grandchildren, Grayson Davis, Cameron Davis, Cassidy Collier, Davis Collier and Dalton Collier.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
