FREMONT -- James Russell "Fats" Sauls, 86, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011.
Funeral will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Wilson Memorial Service, followed by a time of visiting.
Interment will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, Section C, Fremont.
Fats was known for barbecuing pigs for churches, civic groups and family reunions for many years.
He had retired from fuel delivery and farming, which began after his World War II Army service.
Surviving are his daughters, Sue Proctor of Fremont, Diane Tyndall (Brian) of Nahunta and Polly Effler (Tom) of Dudley; sons, Rusty Sauls of Fremont, Danny Sauls (Renee) of Pinkney and Billy Sauls (Delbra) of Pikeville; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren
The family will be at the home of Sue Proctor, N.C. 222 East in Fremont.
