ETHLYN C. BRASWELL

Ethlyn Carnette Braswell, 26, of 295 Perkins Rd., Goldsboro, was born on Oct. 9, 1984 to Sherelene and Edward Braswell in Wayne County. She quietly passed on Aug. 31, 2011. She attended Rosewood High School, and later graduated from Goldsboro High School, Class of 2002. Upon graduation she attended Winston-Salem State University majoring in Business. She was active during her school years participating in the marching band, cheerleading, Goldsboro High School Honor Society and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (AKA) Debutante Ball Contestant. She enjoyed entertaining, traveling and caring for her children.
She attended several churches in the area where she participated in youth activities and was a member of the Mount Zion choir. She accepted Christ as her personal savior in 2010.
She was preceded in death by three grandmothers, Gracie Simmons, Ethel Braswell and Thelma Braswell, one uncle, Herbert Braswell and one aunt, LaShawn Simmons.
She leaves to cherish three sons; Avion, Ny'Kirion, Rameek; one daughter, Ansiah, along with her devoted parents, Edward and Sherelene Braswell, two grandfathers, Hoover Braswell of Goldsboro and Roy Lee Simmons of East Orange, N.J.; four sisters, Renyya (Jay) Long of Kinston, Heather Braswell of Goldsboro, Latasha (Chris) Williams of Smithfield, and Vivica Townsend of Goldsboro; four aunts, Sharon Simmons and Brenda Brewington, both of Goldsboro, Liz (James) Williams and Ethel (Clarence) Williams, both of Atlanta, GA; two uncles, Jerry Braswell and Reginald (Millicent) Simmons, both of Goldsboro; two nephews, two nieces, nine great-aunts, one great-uncle, a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home. An inspiration service will also be held on Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Place of Refuge. A service of remembrance by the graveside will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Old Mill Cemetery. Following the committal rites, Ms. Braswell will be interred into her earthly resting place until that day when all of the Master's children will rise and meet the Heavenly Father in the air.
