Christine Artis Faison, 66, died Wednesday at Providence Hospital in Washington D.C.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at Elm Grove Church of Christ Disciples of Christ at 2 p.m. with Mr. Bob Hartsell officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Friends Cemetery in Dudley. Family members will greet friends Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the service and at other times will be at the home of her brother, Charles and Deborah Artis, 2629 NC 222 E., Fremont, NC 27830.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Wiley James Artis and Rosa Webb Artis and wife of the late Charles Edward Faison Sr. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Wiley Artis Jr., Carney Artis, Rudolph Artis; and sister, Nettie Artis Porter. She attended Wayne County Schools and graduated from Norwayne School and was employed with Americal for 20 years.
Mrs. Faison is survived by her children, Charles Faison Jr. and wife, Sarah, Donnie Faison and wife, Wanda, Tashika Oleros and husband, Danilo, and April Faison; eight grandchildren, NyGel Cooper, Emani Faison, Jamaal Faison, Nicholas Faison, Kemia Faison Williams, Tiara Faison, Breyia Faison Oates, Braden "B.J." Faison-Oates and Olivia Oleros; brothers, Jesse Artis, Arthur Artis (Claudine), Albert Artis, Charles Artis (Deborah); sisters, Katherine Artis Cox, Dollie Simmons (Anthony), Alice Worrells (Richard), Geraldine Jones, Linda Jordan (Charles), Shirley Burton (Earl) and Alberta Barnes.
