PIKEVILLE -- Fred Nash Craft Sr., 79, passed away Thursday evening at Wake Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Fred was born in Greene County, and was the son of the late Floyd and Bessie Fields Craft.
He was the founder of Craft Digging Service, which is now operated by his sons.
Fred was a member of Princeton Church of God of Prophecy and the Princeton Trio.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Fred is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Sasser Craft; his sons, William "Billy" Craft of Pikeville, Stuart Craft and wife, Joyce, of Goldsboro and Robin Craft and wife, Beverly, of Princeton; his daughter-in-law, Jackie Craft of Grantham; his grandchildren, Rebecca Britt and husband, Edgar, Elizabeth, Crystal, Catherine, Margie, Stephanie, Jason Craft and wife, Kristen, Matthew Craft and wife, Tina, Tyler and Jordan; his great-grandchildren, Mackinzie, Anna Grace, Zachary, Payton, MaKayla, Jaden and Alysa; and his brother, Mercer Craft of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Fred N. Craft Jr.; his great-grandson, Jaykob; his brothers, Bruce, Melvin, A.C., Denzel, Sidney and Wayne; and his sisters, Grace, Dorothy, Merline, Jane and Irma.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
