Died Aug. 11, 2011

Marjorie Lamm Chewning passed away on Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Franklin County, she was the daughter to the late Matthew Thomas Lamm and Mozelle Moore Lamm. She was a registered nurse and retired from the department of surgery at Wayne Memorial Hospital after 331/2 years of service. She was operating supervisor for many years. She was a member of Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church and a member of the Gleaners Sunday school class, the Morning Circle and sang with the choir. She was also a member of the Young at Heart and New Hope Home Extension Club.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Bandy and Dr. John Dutton officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Chewning is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and wife Lynn Daniels Chewning of Goldsboro and Steve and wife, Teri Goad Chewning of Cary; her four grandchildren, Courtney, Daniel, Taylor and Connor Chewning; and one brother, Paul Lamm and wife, Shirley Maxine Morgan Lamm of Samaria, N.C.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Chewning and her three brothers, Elbert, Wilbur and Dean Lamm.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church at 2803 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
