Helen Battle DuPuy, 93, Goldsboro, took off "mortality" and put on "immortality" at the home of her daughter in Park Hills, Ky., July 28.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harriet Jackson Battle and James Battle, and her husband, James DuPuy.
She is survived by her children, James Ervin (Delores) DuPuy, Frederick (Evelyn) DuPuy, Audrey DuPuy and Ronnie Darnell (Lillian) DuPuy; beloved sister, Mattie Thompson Hill of Newfield, N.J.; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Battle of Franklinville, N.J., and Bertha Allen of Vineland, N.J.; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Homegoing service will be held Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Darden Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 111 E. Hooks River Road, Goldsboro, N.C., with the Rev. Carlton Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park, North on Old Grantham Road.
Public viewing will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C.
The family will greet friends at the Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m.
The family invites you to bring your tambourines to the homegoing service.
