RICHARD "DICKY" HUBERT YELVERTON

Richard "Dicky" Hubert Yelverton, 51, passed away Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A service to celebrate his life will be 7 p.m. Monday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Hollowell officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Eureka Cemetery.

A native of Charleston, S.C., Dicky was the son of Richard and Bobbie Crocker Yelverton of the Patetown community. Dicky was a high school graduate and was employed with Western Express Carrier. He loved playing the guitar and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, Dicky is survived by his sisters; Lynne Y. Evans and husband, Eddie, of Stantonsburg and Susie Y. Oakley and husband, Kirk, of Timberlake; brother, John B. Yelverton and wife, Lynn, of Las Vegas, Nev.; a special cousin, Kelly Hood; and a special friend, Chip Lamm, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Flowers are welcome, though memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 10, Pikeville, N.C. 27863, or the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C. 27834.

The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 until 7 p.m. and following the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of his parents at 488 Church of God Road in the Patetown community.
