ESTHER BRIDGERS HARPER

Esther Bridgers Harper, 92, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Esther was born in Johnston County on Sept. 23, 1918, the daughter of the late Sidney Bridgers and Leather Murphy, and was the widow of Earl Harper. Mrs. Harper was employed with Lori Manufacturing Company and was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church.
Services by the graveside will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Willowdale Cemetery.
Mrs. Harper is survived by her daughter, Dixie Thornton and husband, Frank, of Kenly. She is survived by her grandchildren, April Harper, Judy Grimes and husband, Dennis, Jerry Thornton, and Billy Thornton and wife, Michelle. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Kellie Sharp, Robert Sharp, David Kurt Grimes, Kimberly Thornton, Joseph Thornton, and Sarah Thornton. Esther is also survived by her three great-great-grandchildren, Dennis Christian Sauls, Kylie Sharp, and Gracie Grimes.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence Harper, and his wife, Joyce.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, 27534; or to Alzheimers North Carolina, Inc., P.O. Box 10608 Goldsboro, 27532.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
