ROYSTON, Ga. -- Elbert Junior Pridgen, 75, 425 Taylor St., Royston, Ga., formerly of Dudley, N.C., died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, Ga.
Mr. Pridgen was born in Nash County, N.C., Oct. 29, 1935, son of the late Ben and Pearl Narron Pridgen.
Graveside services for Mr. Pridgen will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley, N.C., with the Rev. Dock Hobbs officiating.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Frances Barnes Pridgen of Royston, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Audrey Pridgen of Mount Olive, N.C.; grandson, Gentry Pridgen of Mount Olive, N.C.; sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara White of Wilmington, N.C., Betty Hawley, Doris Burgess, Mattie Williams and Myrtie Pridgen all of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Mary and Donald Batts of Rocky Mount, N.C.; brothers and sister-in-law, James H. Pridgen, Jack Pridgen and Bill and Jean Pridgen all of Rocky Mount, N.C.; sisters-in-law, LaNell Cobb, Donna Morris and Nancy Williamson all of Goldsboro, N.C., and Carolyn and Levy Moore of Franklin Springs, Ga.
Mr. Pridgen is also survived by a host of beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The body is at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro, N.C., where the family will receive friends from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
The family is at the home of LaNell Cobb, 209 Stratford Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
