KENNETH H. FARMER

Kenneth Hooks Farmer, 70, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Wake Medical Center.

Kenneth was born in Wayne County Feb. 26, 1941, to the late James Hooks Farmer and Dorothy Jane Edgerton Farmer.

He had worked as a sales representative with Johnson and Sherman, and later served as the house manager for the House of Fordham.

Kenneth was a member of The Word Church.

The greatest joy of his life was his family and his grandchildren, whom he loved spending time with.

A service to remember Kenneth will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with pastor Linda Burroughs officiating.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Anne Farmer; his sons, Kenneth Christopher Farmer and wife, Angela, of Goldsboro, Michael Patrick Farmer and wife, Tess, of Pinehurst and Lee Matthews and wife, Robin, of Rosewood; his daughters, Tonja Matthews Singleton and husband, Mike, of Rosewood and Nicole Farmer Carter of Rosewood; his grandchildren, Krissen Farmer, Christopher Farmer, Zach Farmer, Michaela Farmer, Meagan Wiesenhart and husband, Michael, Dylan Farmer, Logan Farmer, Carson Farmer, Tully Farmer, Brice Matthews, Cole Matthews, Kyle Matthews, Hope Long and husband, Scott, Charity Singleton, Joshua Singleton, Collin Carter and Miles Carter; his great-grandchildren, Adison Singleton and Bryleigh Long; his brothers, Jimmy Farmer of Rosewood, Tom Farmer and wife, Shirley, of Ohio and Donnie Farmer and wife, Shelia, of Rosewood; and his sister, Frances Keene and husband, Gareth, of Rosewood.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandsons, Ryan Farmer and Matt Matthews; his brother, Joseph Clement Farmer; and his sister, Dorothy Jane Farmer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heart of the Nations at the House of Fordham, 412 N. William St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

The family will receive friends Saturday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home of his daughter, Nicole Carter, 108 Pate Circle, Goldsboro.
