BARBARA TOMMORROW NIXSON

DUDLEY -- Barbara Tommorrow Nixson was born Jan. 13, 1937, to the late Gwendolyn Dempsey and Benjamin Nixson in Queens, N.Y. She departed this life Sunday, April 17, 2011, at her residence.

"Mom-my," as she was affectionately known, graduated from Clara Barton High School in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Barbara loved serving others as a nurse for 25 years at Belview Hospital in New York, N.Y.

Barbara loved her music, to dance, eat and Court TV.

Barbara leaves behind to cherish her memories two daughters, Tammy Parham (Clinton) of Goldsboro, N.C., and Linda Darnell Johnson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a son, Clarence Howell of Mount Olive, N.C.; and a granddaughter, Dominique Victoria Santiago of Goldsboro, N.C.

A viewing will be held tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

A service of remembrance will also be held tonight at 8 p.m. at the E.M. Matthews Life Celebration Chapel. Interment will take place Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park North.

Services of compassion and distinguished class are provided by E.M. Matthews Funeral Home.
