ELDRESS JOANN LEWIS HAGANS

Eldress JoAnn Lewis Hagans, 50, of Dudley, departed this life on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Greater Saint John Free Will Baptist Church, 612 Mitchell Road, Dudley, with Dr. William A. Mitchell Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 3888 U.S. Highway 70 West, Princeton.

JoAnn was born in Wayne County on Oct. 30, 1960, to the late Sylvia Hagans and the living Joe Edward Lewis.

She was educated in the Wayne County public schools. JoAnn graduated with the class of 1978 at Goldsboro High School.

Eldress Hagans was employed with the State of North Carolina at O'Berry Neuro Medical Treatment Center.

As a member of the Greater Saint John FWB Church, Eldress Hagans served in many capacities within her church.

A public viewing will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at noon at Greater St. John FWB Church, 612 Mitchell Road, Dudley, from noon until 12:45 p.m.

Eldress Hagans leaves to cherish her precious memories her daughter, Sylvia Howell and husband, David, of Goldsboro; one grandchild; her father, Joe Lewis and wife, Johnnie, of Goldsboro; four sisters, Cynthia Irene Hagans of Goldsboro, Margaret Watkins and husband, Kermit, of Charlotte, Cynthia Lewis of Charlotte, and her adopted sister, Patricia Pittman and husband, James, of Dudley; two special nephews, Maurice Hagans and wife, Kia, and Desmond Hagans; host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, church family members and friends.

At other times, the family and friends will meet at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lewis, 412 Miller St., Goldsboro, NC, 27530.
