GLORIA FRANCES WADE

May 21, 1943-April 17, 2011

Gloria Frances Wade, 67, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011, with her family by her bedside, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born May 21, 1943, in Lenoir County to the late Marvin Wade and Blanche Chase Wade.

She had worked at Barry of Goldsboro and Sunburst Foods.

She was a former resident of Kirkwood Retirement Center, and faithfully attended United in Christ Church as long as her health permitted.

Funeral services will be held at Seymour Funeral Home chapel Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at 7 p.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Ira Williford, whom she loved dearly.

The family will receive friends following the service.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 20, at 10 a.m. at Mewborn Cemetery in Jason.

Gloria is survived by two brothers, Dennis Wade and wife, Melinda, and Ricky Wade and wife, Darlene, all of Goldsboro; two sisters, Lorraine Brown and husband, Bill, of Goldsboro and Tammie Kollock and husband, Mike, of Kinston, a brother-in-law, Lonnie Hatmaker of Dallas, Ga. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Earl Wade, and a sister, Nan Hatmaker.

Her nephews will serve as pallbearers: Jeff Hatmaker, Brian Hatmaker, Blair Wade, Clark Wade, Matthew Kollock and Michael-Paul Kollock.

The family would like to express its sincere and heartfelt appreciation to Pastor Williford and the friends of United in Christ Church for their love and support during Gloria's illness, and also to Dr. Chang and the staff at Southeastern Oncology and to all of the staff at Home Health and Hospice, including the nurses, aides, the social worker and the chaplain, for the outstanding and unsurpassed care provided to Gloria.
