JANICE MARIE SMITH
June 6, 1959-April 14, 2011
Ms. Janice Marie Smith, 51, daughter of Blonnie and the late David Smith, was born June 6, 1959, in Wayne County. She peacefully departed this life Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She attended Wayne County Public Schools, and graduated from Southern Wayne High School.
Janice was a faithful member of Augusta Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Fond memories will be forever cherished in the hearts of her daughter, Leticia Moore of the home; her mother, Blonnie Smith of the home; a brother, Lendal Smith (Deborah) of Goldsboro, N.C.; two sisters, Everlyn Coley (Ricky) of Mount Olive, N.C., and Angie Woods (Ricardo) of the home; two aunts, Lula Pearson of Goldsboro, N.C., and Juanita Pearson of Phil. Pa.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A service of remembrance will be held today at 1 p.m. at Augusta Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Following the life celebration service in the sanctuary, Ms. Smith's delicate temple, along with her adored family, will be escorted to the earthly resting place designated for Janice in the church cemetery.
Services of compassion and distinguished class are provided by E.M. Matthews Funeral Home.
