STEPHEN A. GARRETT

Nov. 22, 1984-March 19, 2011

Mr. Stephen A. Garrett, 26, 402 W. New Hope Road, Goldsboro, was born Nov. 22, 1984, to Sgt. Robert Milhouse and Stephanei Garrett in Wayne County, N.C. He quietly entered into eternal peace Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Stephen attended Goldsboro Christian schools. Later he attended school in Germany, where he lived with his father. He returned to the states in 1998, and attended the public schools of North Carolina. Stephen graduated from Westover High School in Fayetteville in 2003.

Stephen joined the United States Air Force, and had an honorable discharge in 2006. While in the military, he married Chasity Jones.

He was creative, humorous and adventurous.

He had an aspiration to attend Gupton Jones School of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, Ga., to follow in his grandfather's footsteps.

Stephen believed in being sincere in God and not taking God lightly. His mother, father, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and family wish the world to know that Stephen A. Garrett was a precious treasure of beautiful rare memories, even though he was here with us a brief moment.

Precious memories will forever be etched in the hearts and minds of many such as his mother Stephanei; father, Sgt. Robert Milhouse; grandparents: Bajei Garrett, Geraldine Freeman and Richard Freeman; great-grandparents, Janette Pickens, Dawson Milhouse, Annie Milhouse and Charlie Bell; his siblings: TaiLi, Tyler, Joi, Jodeci, Jahnee, Abry and Marquis; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Holly Green Missionary Baptist Church. Following the services in the sanctuary, Stephen and his adored family will be escorted to Elmwood Cemetery for interment rites.

Mr. Garrett's corporeal temple is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home and Cremations Inc., where the Garret and connected family is receiving services of compassion and distinguished class.
